I. Introduction
The “me too.” movement, founded by Tarana Burke, has roots dating back to 2006. However, the year 2017 and social media changed everything. The #MeToo hashtag became a global phenomenon due to celebrities such as Alyssa Milano, Lady Gaga, Gabrielle Union, and many others sharing their “me too” status—survivors of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and rape culture. This created a domino effect that reached millions of people and helped amplify those who had courage to share their stories about experiences with sexual harassment and assault.

On Friday, CNN announced that it had fired one of its news editors for "multiple instances of plagiarism" in at least 50 articles on the news organization's site. Marie-Louise Gumuchian covered international news for CNN, including recent stories on the Ukraine crisis. She worked out of CNN's London bureau.
In an Editor's Note, CNN explained how they discovered the plagiarism:
An unpublished story flagged last week during our editing process led to an internal investigation that uncovered other examples in about 50 published stories, and our investigation is ongoing.
We've terminated Gumuchian's employment with CNN, and have removed the instances of plagiarism found in her pieces. In some cases, we've chosen to delete an entire article.
Muckrack's archive of her now-deleted Twitter account includes links to her coverage of the U.K.'s same-sex marriage laws, along with the kidnapped school girls crisis in Nigeria. She formerly covered Libya, East/West Africa, Italy
