A hero to me is a person who is brave, strong, caring and never gives up. One person who I believe is a hero is Hannah Rogers. She is a softball pitcher. She was signed as a free agent by the USSSA pride after attending Florida college. She had amazing stats and was an outstanding softball player all around she had struck out 833 players. I learned a lot about softball from my researching about Hannah.

Hannah's softball stat's are amazing. She played 988 innings and was one of 10 finalists for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award, Rogers earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the 2014 Women's College World Series. Rogers' major in college was event management at UF, Rogers boasts a 3.12 cumulative GPA and started her senior year off right with a GPA of 3.69. With all her after school activities and Publicity she still was an outstanding senior graduate.Hannah had a lot of courage and determination.

Hannah was an all around great ball player. When you are a pitcher it's easy to give up on yourself or on pitching altogether it also is extremely hard to become a famous female athlete in our generation. Classroom

Not only is Rogers a leader on the field for the Gators, but her work in the classroom speaks for itself. An Event Management major at UF, Rogers boasts a 3.12 cumulative GPA and started her senior year off right with a 3.69 GPA in the fall of 2013 prior to entering her final campaign donning the Orange and Blue. Rogers was named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll and will be completing a field experience class this spring, followed by an internship in the field next fall to complete her degree at UF in December of 2014.

Character

Rogers has the chance to become UF’s first four-time softball All-American after garnering All-America status as a freshman, sophomore and junior, but you wouldn’t know Rogers’ extensive accolades from talking to her or watching her work as the leader of the Gator squad. Described as a workhorse, head coach Tim Walton also describes Hannah as a blue-collar athlete that is the first one in the door and the last one to leave practice each day – she comes in, works hard at her job and leaves it all out on the field. One of Rogers’ best characteristics is her even-keeled persona, whether she’s in the pitching circle or around her teammates, Rogers always has a calming presence, which serves her well as a leader by example for
