    Michael “Mike” G. Decker, 62 of Terre Haute went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2024.

    Mike was born to William “Ed” and Vickie Decker on September 5, 1961.

    Mike was co-owner with his brother David at D&D Automation since 1989. He was working towards being a certified private pilot. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He loved to travel with his wife, friends and family. His favorite place to visit was Branson, MO or as he would say “Bronson”.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Jackie; three daughters Breanne (Jan) Newton, Jessica Knowles (Sam); Caitlin (Matt)Frederick; eight grandchildren; Timmy, Adi, Tylen, Ryder, Hadley, Jax, Easton, Madyson; Also surviving is his mother Vickie Decker, his brother David (Shelley) Decker, his sister Janet(Brian) Otte, sister-in-law Jane(Gary)Lingenfelser, Helen Webb, and brother-in-law, Bill Graham.

    Michael H. Decker was the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Oversight. from September 2009 to February 2014. Before that he was assistant director of Intelligence, Marine Corps Intelligence, United States Marine Corps.[1] He served as Director of Intelligence during Operation Iraqi Freedom II (OIF II) from January 2004 to June 2005.

    Early life and education

    Decker obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and later earned his Master of Arts in government/national security studies from Georgetown University. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Strategic intelligence from the National Defense Intelligence College.[2]

    Military career

    Decker was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantry platoon commander during operations to the Mediterranean Sea. In 1982, he was deployed as an assistant battalion operations officer to Beirut, Lebanon, as part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon. After returning to the United States, Decker served as an infantry company commander and later as assistant operations officer for an expeditionary unit in Honduras.
