Born in Northern Ireland and currently one of the brightest talents on the professional golfing circuit, Rory enjoyed a successful amateur career and was ranked amateur world number one at the age of seventeen in 2007, turning pro later the same year.
He took his first major win at the US Open in 2011 with a record breaking 16 under par score and the following year, won the PGA Championship again with a record breaking eight stroke winning margin. A few months later, he became World Number One for the first time.
